The Woods Hole Film Festival celebrates its 27th year with over 100 films to be screened Saturday, July 28, 2018 through August 4th 2018.

The film festival originally was a one-day invitational affair in 1991. It has grown to an eight-day summer extravaganza showcasing films submitted from around the world.

In addition to independent films the festival also hosts panel discussions, master classes, workshops, music and parties.

Dinner and a Movie

In recent years the Woods Hole Film Festival has branched out to other times of the year with their Dinner and A Movie events as well as their Film Falmouth events.

The Dinner and A Movie event involves monthly film screenings of independent films and runs from October through May. Local restaurants have joined in on the festivities by offering discounts and special offers on the night of the film screening. The film screenings are held at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute’s (WHOI’s) Redfield Auditorium which is located at 45 Water Street in Woods Hole. 

Film Falmouth

Film Falmouth is the result of  a collaboration with Falmouth Academy. The series runs from September through May and involved a monthly screening series of independent films. Falmouth Academy is located at 7 Highfield Drive, Falmouth, MA and the screenings take place in Morse Hall. Film Falmouth is supported in part by grants from the Cape Cod 5 Charitable Foundation Trust, the Falmouth Fund of the Cape Cod Foundation, Arts Foundation of Cape Cod, and the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
