Falmouth signs of the season:
The Falmouth Farmers Market opens for the season on Thursday, May 24th just in time to kick off the Memorial Day weekend.
Every Thursday afternoon until October 11, 2018 you can find the market on Scranton Avenue by beautiful Falmouth Harbor. The market features an abundance of vegetables and fruits from farms in Falmouth. In addition, you can find artisanal cheeses, breads, pies, pastas, meat, herbs and flowers from Cape Cod , Buzzards Bay and southeastern Massachusetts.
Cape Cod Scenic Walks are plentiful. One of our very own innkeepers created a page on their website to share some options. Click here to go to the map reflecting locations of the walks. (Woods Hole Passage Bed and Breakfast)
A favorite walk of visitors and native cape codders alike is the knob. You can take a virtual tour of the knob beach by viewing a video on a blog from one of our Falmouth innkeepers by clicking here. (Palmer House Inn)
The Island Queen ferry to Martha’s Vineyard starts the season Friday, May 25, 2018. There are several ways to venture for a day trip to Martha’s Vineyard from Falmouth. You could take the Steamship Authority which are large ships carrying both vehicles and people from Falmouth to Oak Bluffs or to Vineyard Haven, the Edgartown ferry carrying only people and only sailing the round trip route of Falmouth – Edgartown, or the Island Queen carrying only people and sailing the round trip route of Falmouth – Oak Bluffs. So what captures the major difference????
Shortest trip and most expensive = Edgartown Ferry; Flexible and Frequent Schedule to multiple ports and least expensive = Steamship Authority; Middle cost of the three options and arguably from fans known as the most fun = Island Queen.
